Book Report Rabbit Proof Fence


RABBIT PROOF FENCE
Have you ever read or listened about Rabbit-Proof Fence. The author of this book is Doris Pilkington Garimara. He is Englsihman. Rabbit-Proof Fence is good story, and the story take places in Jigalong, Western Australia at 1931. Jigalong is a place in desert near rabbit proof fence. There are many aborigines living in this place. And The Aborigines were the first people in Australian. They were living there long before the white man came south from Europe, bringing his animals, his illnesses, his way of living, his ideas, his government and his law. And then the story also take places in “Moore River Native Settlement”, the school for half caste girl.
The main character in this book is Molly, Daisy, and Gracie. Three children aged fourteen, eight, and ten. Molly’s  mother is Maude, was a young Mardu women who used to work as a domestic servant for superintendent at the depot, and then her father name is Thomas Craig, an Englishman who worked as an inspector of the rabbit-proof fence. Molly character is confident, because she always defends herself for example when the other kids mocked them and she threw stones at them. she always funny in every time. Then Daisy character is affectionate , she love molly very much. And then Gracie character is polite and very kind with her friend , but Gracie is a little stubborn because she leaves the other girls in Wiluna and Molly and Daisy can't persuade her to stand by them. Martha character is very friendly. And then Riggs character is explicit, he is police man. When Molly, Daisy and Gracie begin went from their school to Jigalong, Riggs always looking for them.
The story started when three half caste girl from Jigalong, they are Molly, Gracie, and Daisy take from Jigalong to “Moore River Native Settlement”, the school of half caste girl. They went to that school, because it is regulation from the government in there. Molly, Daisy, and Gracie learned the white man ways in the Moor River Native Settlement. The always woken up at 6 o’clock every morning, and then they must clean everything in there when visitor came. For breakfast they got bad food, for example dry bread. The lunch was as bad as the breakfast. When it is bed time the door are locked, it’s like a prison. So finally, Molly. Gracie, and Daisy run off from this school. They looking for rabbit proof fence, and then they followed the rabbit proof fence to find their home back to Jigalong. In their way to came back to Jigalong, the rain is started, it makes the way became too hard, but they continue walking to north, then if they arrived Russel Station in Wiluna. Gracie said if her mother live in there, so she leave Molly and Daisy in Wiluna. Finally, Gracie stay in Wiluna, then Molly and Daisy back to the their home in Jigalong.
This book is not only enjoyable to read, but this book give our many knowledge about life. The story in this book is very good and we can get many moral value from this book. The value that I think is very important, that’s value is we can not impose our will to the other and then the second moral value is be yourself, you must not be another person in your life , but you must be yourself. It will be better. This story explain about three half caste girl. They are Molly, Gracie, and Daisy. They must follow  the white man ways, although their felt suppressed. From this book we also learn from the main of character , who always enjoyed their life although many person mock them. They have dark skin but they always confident in everytime. From this book we get many moral value and knowledge.
I would recommend this book to other reader. This book gives our a lot of lesson about moral value and provide lesson about life. When reading the book, we will be able to felt the struggle the main character of this book, they are Molly. Gracie, and Daisy. I hope that should launch another book like this, because story of this book is very interesting and enjoyable to read. You must directly went to the story book for buy this book.
